SULWATH NEWS

29th May is our annual mini beer festival at the brewery which coincides with Castle Douglas Food Town Day.

This year we will have all the usual ales available as well as some guest beers from other breweries.

We will be open from 10am - 7pm and the sunshine has been booked.

As always, The Sulwath Syncapators jazz band will be playing in the afternoon and food will be available also.

We hope to see you there!!

January 2010 was the Camra Winter Beer of Britain Championaship, Which was held in Manchester.

We were delighted to make it through to the finals with 'The Black Galloway' & even more delighted to come away with a Silver Award.

On June 4th 2009 we were delighted to be awarded Champion Speciality Beer of Scotland at the 23rd Great Grampian Beer Festival for "Solway Mist"

We also won the silver award at Aberdeen for the same beer.

"Cuil Hill" won Silver at the Scottish Traditional Beer Festival in Edinburgh on June 26th 2009.

Last year was the 'Homecoming'. We celebrated the 250th birthday of the famous Scottish poet ROBERT BURNS.

We were asked to brew this refreshing celebration ale by Chris Walker from the Selkirk Arms in Kirkcudbright, where it is believed Robert Burns penned 'The Selkirk Grace' in 1794.

We have simply called this ale "The Grace".

"The Grace" is light brown in colour with three different hop varieties with the best 'Maris Otter' & Crystal malts to create a colour reminiscent of a Galloway sunset, with a rich full bodied flavour that balances the sweetish caramel aftertaste.
